The cheap-o Toucan Eurolite bulbs actually look pretty white. There is no blue in them whatsoever.

I put in PIAA extreme whites and they look exactly like my 2k2 HIDs. Mind you I paid $60CAD for them. But even at regular price they're worth it since they carry a 1 year warranty.

Toucan bulbs are horrible and last 3 months at the most.

I have had mine installed since March '02. No problems.

Actually, search around this forum and you will find that the PIAA's are the bulbs that have multiple cases of premature burnout.....

I heard instead of having a slightly blue-hid tint to them, they have a purple tint to them. Let's hope that's not what it turns out to be for you

This is what I am going to do:

Get PIAA H3 Ion Crystal (yellow) fogs because it cuts through the fog/rain more than the white and it looks nice too.
Also Get PIAA 194/168 Ion Crystal clearance light bulbs for my 2k2 headlights and it will match the foglights. No parking light bulb matches the HIDs so I am going to a totally different color. I am sure it will look good.

Actually, where I work at this huge performance store in Toronto we get hundreds of defective and prematurly burned out Toucan lights. I would say for every 20 toucan defects there would be 1 PIAA defect.

Just my 2 cents.

I bought my PIAAs on Ebay from CaptainAuction. Ships fast, and fair price at $46 + $6 shipping

PIAA Xtreme White H3 from Captainauction on Ebay

PIAA H3s almost match HIDs exactly... they don't increase visability much more than the HIDs, but unless you install Xenon fogs I suspect nothing will.

next time you change your bulbs, spread some silicon grease on the connection prongs before you clip the harnesses together. Worked for me. I burned out bulbs left and right until I did this.

(water works its way in and shorts out the bulb)

Yes Superplasmas or Extreme Whites. Both are exact matches to 2k2-2k3 HID's.

What I hope is that they blow just before they turn 1 year old so that I can warranty them, or they at least last me 2 years. Then I'll be happy
