Lets quit giving people bum scoop. Its going to cost you between $340-$359 that includes the rebuild and shipping back to you give or take a few dollars so relax.

WTF?! Sounds normal to me, at least me and Hookedup98SE sounds just like that the day of install. Did it sound like that the day you started it? Some guys said it was normal, and I did hear worse than that on someone's car I think it was BlackCat's blower, not sure.

I was talking about the loud grinding sound that I thought myself was problem as well, but was the same sound on Hookedup98SE's blower and everyone said thats normal. BlackCat's I think, had an inconsistent grinding sound where it would get loud and soft. Is that the sound your referring to? Unless its just the sound clip, I'm hearing a little bit of a hollow droning sound, like when your listening through a long pipe or something.

Back in November my V2 sounded just like that. The noise got worse and worse. At first it showed up while at idle at a stoplight and then a little while later it showed up the few seconds when first starting the car up in the morning. Iansw posted my sound file for me and it sounded sick.
Jaime at Vortech said my bearings had started to go on me after they inspected it.

The rebuild made all the difference. It now has this cool jet-like whine/whistle that I've not had previously.

Rebuild cost me $363.95

I missed reading what pulley size you've got.

Before you start tearing down the supercharger do this:

I posted in an old thread that I've discovered that the belt between the 3.33" pulley and the tensioner pulley would vibrate and this causes that nasty rattle noise in the blower. This never happened with the stock 3.60" pulley. I had to fiddle several times with the belt tension to find that sweet spot between excessive rattle and belt slip. At the moment I've still have a slight rattle whenever the idle speed dips to 650/700rpm but I've managed to almost completely stop belt slippage noise.

Hmm, one day I'm going to have to adjust my belt tension I guess. I have the 3.33" pulley and Hookedup98SE has the 3.6" and they sound exactly similar, except his is moving at a slower rate because my idle speed happens to be higher. I'll look into it though. So its the belt tension eh?

I've been fiddling also with the idle speed lately. I find that the noise isn't there at 800rpm or higher. After the car is warmed up in the morning after a little drive the idle at the stoplight would dip to 650-700rpm and the blower will rattle slightly. So far, disconnecting that throttle sensor and playing with the idle speed adjustor has upped my idle speed but now I get an odd up and down idle speed (like surging) instead of a level and consistant speed.

Tightening the belt would only make the noise worse and overtightening will cause premature failing of the blower bearings. I believe I did this to my blower. Loosen the belt and the rattle would go away but then you'd get belt slippage on cold mornings. All I can say is that the supercharger prefers a warmer climate!
