What is boost bleeder valve?

What is boost bleeder valve?
What is the boost bleeder valve some people are running (e.g. Mardi)? From what I have gathered, it allows fine tuning of fuel pressure when boosting, so it's not the same as the Sard fpr, right? Is it included in the Vortech super-fmu? Or something else?

It is a extremely crude tuning device, it is a 3 dollar bleeder valve that you install on the Vacuum port of your regular FMU, what this does is allows you to make the disc 1 notch smaller... so if you have a 8:1 disc and you open the bleeder valve, you are effectively making it a 7:1 or depending on how much you open the valve, a 6.5:1 or 7.6:1 disc, if you are damn close on your A/F ratio and are on a dyno it could be a cheap fix to getting the car that much closer to stoich by turning a little **** versus buying AFC's or the like.

Hey Ian, why did you pick the Cartech fmu over, say, the Vortech superfmu?

Thanks, Delio. So if I go to the local performance shop and ask for a boost bleeder valve, they'll know what I'm talking about?

They may or may not, I have found that the "Performance" Shops in my area don't know squat unless it has to do with an AEM intake or DC Sports header for a Civic with a motor swap, I ordered it directly from Vortech, and paid less than 3 bux for it if memory serves me corectly.
