92-94 SE tails.

they are all the same right?

anyone know what they run at the dealer?

So I was driving along and BAM, I dont know what it is, but when I get home, I look, and the part of the tail, that wraps around the side has a knick/gauge out of it, right where it meets the paint and I have about a quarter sized dent and whatever hit me, took my paint down to the bare metal and scraped the metal. So I may touch up the paint with touch up, but I am now worried about the tail. SUCKS! I was just thinking the other day too *what would happen if a tail broke, my I have such perfect tails and now this* grrrrr....

92-94 SE trim maxima's have the same rear. You can call courtesy Nissan or go to your local junkyard and see if they have them there. Good luck in your quest in replacing them.

SEARCH NOOB, lol there probably gonna be pretty espensive if you get OEM, I checked on OEM headlights last week and they were $200 each.

You should try the for-sale forum I think sommeone was parting out a VE not too long ago

I think EdgeProductions is parting out his car, try him. The dealer will charge you an arm and a leg.

Yeah... good luck finding them used! I've been looking for 'em for a year now, and every time I run across some, some NOOB scoops 'em up! LOL Someone told me that a search on autopart.com or something like that came up with a pair for under $50. I haven't tried it yet, but you might want to start there.
(and as a side note, if you DO find some, let me know where you did - I need a pair)

I have the complete tail light assy (right, left, center piece) for an 89-91 SE. I considered selling them but dont think I want to sell a piece at a time.

I may do it though and I will email you if I do.

correct me if im wrong but arent all 3rd gen GXE tails basicly the same as VE tails except for chrome trim and letters on the tails as opposed to black on the SE,i was thinkin of gettin a set of GXE tails and painting the chrome trim on them and removing the chrome "nissan" and "maxima" badges...any input?

SE tails are also smoked, as the GXE tails are flat red (I'm pretty sure).

I believe that VE SEs also have a lighter white bar at the bottom with black lettering on top of it. The VG SEs (like mine) have a smoked white bar and the lettering isn't on it, it's on that big middle piece which is black for my car. And it is black lettering with some small horizontal reflective bars so you can at least see it in certain angles.

Theres like a million and one variations for the 3rd gen tails. I believe its 4DSC.com has a thing on the variations.

now that you mention it,the gxe lights do seem a bit brighter as opposed to the SE tails,i do know that the 89-91 SE tails are pretty hideous so thats why id like to get rid of them, that square reflector in the middle and the horizontal lines going across them really dont do the car any justice

I think the 89-91 SE tails look the best, but I may be biased. That's just my $.02 anyways.

The '92-'94 SE tails also have a little difference in the turn signals. The white piece goes all the way to the side of the taillight as opposed to stopping at where the taillight curves? I'm actually going to do a SE taillight swap on my GXE because I think mine are just too bright and I just flat-out hate the look of them!!
