I lost to a Cavalier!!!!weird

95 GXe auto vs 02 Chevy Cavalier LS sport coupe(140hp)

I have just Frankecar intake. but him......

A couple nights ago I was on my way home from school, stopped at a red light. This red Cavalier comes flying down from behind in the left lane and slams on the brakes at the last second to stop at the light right next to me. He looks over at me and he's all pimped out . holding the wheel with one hand slouching (sp) to the right side with the music up. The light goes green and we both punch it. I hear his exhaust so I knew he had something huge under the hood becuase at 30mph we were side by side. Then I reached 2nd and he kept pullin on me. At around 65 I shut it down cause I know cops hang around there. He had like 1 car on me.

dude I'm not ashamed of loosing to anybody. I mean my car aint all that fast to begin with, gimme a break. It most likely had some kind of forced induction whether its nitrous, turob, or s/c.

Yes it was 5-speed cause I heard him shift.

Uhm dude...I could beat any cavalier with my 97 auto, all stock....going backwards and running on fumes. :P

Seriously....this happened to me too...a guy in some cavalier revving his motor and without even trying to beat him I do....it was a 2000 or 2001, don't know what type. I have never seen a fast Cavalier so he must have done some serious work to that car...why to that car I don't know.

Thanks that's so true. I would never want a cavalier even if it's fast as hell. It's just too damn ugly.

The next time I see a Cavalier I swear I'm gonna rip it a new one just for the hell of it. even if it's an innocent grandma driving it. Sorry just trying to vent here.

I have seen some horrible riced out caveliers, But I do admit I have seen some very clean / sleek ones. Granted, they're pieces of trash autombiles; but they can look nice.

Super Street

Yeah yeah, Cavs are gay, but the one in the newest issue of Super Street looks pretty damn good I have to admit.
Ive raced a Cav and lost before, but he had a the Z24 and a SC so I didnt feel too bad.
On another note, dont race Buick Grand Nationals... they look like butt but haul ballz. Yeah...

It most likely had a supercharger for the ecotec. I don't know how much exactly horsepower it gives the cavalier, but it's a lot. Yeah, it's a POS car though.

yeah, i agree, he either was spraying or had the ecotech supercharger. i lost to a cavalier once, but he was spraying a 75 shot and i was pretty much stock. the funny part is that even with that 75 shot, he only pulled like a car

The SC doesnt give those cars sh*t. they are slow with or without SC. The guy must of had some serious work.

I read reviews about that SC. It makes the car peppy but not fast.

I don't know why he would work on the Cavalier to make it fast. Their engines have little to no potential. With all the money he must've spent on that crappy Cavalier, he could've had an 11 second dsm and destroyed me by like 1 billion car lengths. But obviously this car wasn't that slow, I mean he beat me-a 3.0 V6 with 190hp. All I need is like $200 for a y-pipe and I can beat him pretty easily.

STUPID RICERS!!!!

I'm not racing on the street anymore. that's it!

i ran a brand new Z24 4dr Cavalier at the track. He was spraying all i had was $15 upper intake. He took me off the line and we were almost dead even at the finish. he crossed the line first but I got the better time.
