THis Monte carlo SS wanted to race me cuz my Exzauhst or somthing and we came to a red light that immediately turns left(2 left turn lanes) him on the outside and we go ,he get nex to me and i knew he wanted some so i punched the old auto and he did the same and instantly he pulled a nose on me. yeah,, that's it a nose, maybe a nose and a half so i keep my baby floored VTC's all ****in up and we stay the same all the way through 2nd and 3rd until the MAX got to the "sweet spot"(you guys all know 3rd gear in the Highend)
and bam i start pulling on this GM Muscle car,until this Van
pulls outta Safeway and pulls in my lane and then his, i swerved around into the other lane(luckily no one coming)
then i hear this skid and then a crunch, my first reaction was to bone out cuz i live really close and i feel bad for both of those people
( when i first got the Max and i hit a curb tryin to pass this GSR)It didn't sound like that bad of a crash, i really wanted to go back and would have in the G20 if it wasn't getting a new wheel bearing right now.so let this be a lesson( i gotta go to the track) but i mean hey" he wanted some,well i kinda did too.

While I advocate speeding and MAYBE racing on open freeways, that is a stupid situation to get in a race when you both are turning left and you have people pulling into the road......

Maybe I can take some pressure off myself by pointing out what I wouldn't do..

Of course there was that time at northgate mall when we were testing out our cars etc. so maybe I can't say much for myself.

And finally, Its awesome it wasn't you. I am sure that the monte carlo learned a tougher lesson than you and he will remember this next time he wants to race a VE max!!!

 

what do those have, a 305? you know the late 80's Monte Carlo SS any one have any stats on this car he had wires too like 14's or 15's so i'm sure that slowed him down a little in the high speeds. good thing it wasn't a Buick GN though, but i would still probably race a GN jus to see that puppy GO. guess i'm just crazy,or a car lover!

 

Monte Carlo SS came with 305's.. You can do a 350 engine swap. My cousin has owned a Turbo Regal and currently owns a GNX. Matter of fact, all he has ever owned are Buick's and Old's Cutlass's.

I cant say anything about not streetracing though because I do it almost every chance I get.

 

Rode in a GN once. Guy had to let off the gas to stop the burnout when we pulled out, I swear the wheels would never stop spinning if he'd kept on it. And to listen to a GN, I thought it was a V8 rumbling under the hood! In funnier news, last night this freak in a lowered S10 truck was swirving in the right lane, I passed him. I suppose he thought I wanted to race or maybe he was just trying to be bad, I don't know, he passes me and slows down after getting in front of me. I keep at speed limit and eventually pass him after he slows. Then he passes me again! We get to a redlight and he gets behind a car and about runs them off the road at green. What is the deal with these people!? I just laughed at his duma$$ and figured he was drunk trying to mess with me. Last person to do that behind me got e-braked.....don't ride me, you'll pay.

 

Was it a dark blue Monte with tinted windows ? If it was I know the guy who owns it, he works at my school. Maybe I'll have to show him a thing or two as well

 

That sucks.....for the monte carlo!!! Yeh street racing is fun, but I rarely find a worthy opponent. Not that there aren't any out there but I always find the ediot in the plane jane civic. Recently I finally raced a integra that had an exhaust and it looked lowered but I was up about a half a car length when I let off. I can't afford another ticket right now!!!!
