the almighty tiny 2.87 is back to her daddy!

before we started.....I had a ride in Kevin's turbo max. It scares me and it pulls stronger than the setup he used to have (2.87/5spd) And....the car is not tuned yet.

Kevin - nive CF hood you got there! I didnt know the supporting rods are not installed. Almost let it go and dropped onto Matthel's head.

hehehehe, this bad girl is really powerful. A different world compared to my 3.33. I havent really brought her up to 6000rpm+ but at 5000+, I already saw an 8psi on my boost.

The install: ah...we stripped the hex bolt to the pulley and Kevin had to drill it and extract it out with an extractor! When we finally got it out...it was 7pm and we had the test drive at 9:30pm.

The stupid mistakes that I made : I didnt tighten the connecting tube from the blower to the charger pipe correctly. Then.....when we boost her for the second time (after the 8psi at 5000) we heard this air releasing sound that's 10x louder than my BOV and I first thought that the 2.87 turn my car into a train. Then the car died right in front of the exit light. All the warning lights show up, CEL, Battery, oil pressure and my powersteering is gone. I could start the car but it died in few seconds. After pushing her accross the street and opeing up the hood...... how silly.

thx Kevin for the install and I feel so lucky that you live only 20 minutes away from my place!

btw, does this look familiar to you guys? hehehe...it is louder~

Nice nice

Too bad we're not all as lucky to have Kev 20 minutes away : it's quite a luxury to have the help and the chance to ride in a turbocharged 5th gen both at the same time

I'm glad you like the new pulley. Should've stuck with the pulley the first time so we didn't have to go through all the trouble of getting that stupid stipped bolt out.

Hehehe... wait until you get the car tuned correctly. Can you say 300 whp?!?!? Only if you run all 11-13 psi's. Hehehe

glad you have a good neighbor with tons of good tool...

without the cat-back....I am still too far away from 300whp. 11 - 13 psi?? Anything 2 digit pressure reading scares me off....even though it is really fun to be sucked into the seat.

Jer : it is good to have him around....hope one day I can help him out here and there to pay back. esp, when someone in the area wants a SC install.

yup~ his turbo charged max sucked me to the seat really hard....glad that I dont have any hemorrhoid.
