What's the best headlight bulb to use?

What's the best headlight bulb to use? By the best I mean, which aftermarket lightbulb has the best lighting (other than HID). I've been using these HID lookalikes, but I feel like there has to be something brighter. I've been seeing these commercials for Sylvania silverstars, but i'm not sure if they are good. any thoughts?

there are many posts about silverstars. and much debate.
i have em, and though i wouldnt get them again, i kind of like them. at least i know they wont burn out like crappy xenons (which ive had). get somethign that illuminates, not looks good.
maybe try something with a higher wattage with upgraded harnesses, i havent done that yet. or jus go HID.

No bulbs are that much better. If you want better light you have to get HID's. Your best bet (non-HID) would be PIAA's with upgraded harness.

Dude, just save up for a set of HID's. I have tested 2 sets of PIAA bulbs, and pair of Silverstars and did not see any increase in lighting over stock. I'm currently going to get a set of HIDs for my Max.

read alot of good about silverstars and finally bought them at local autozone for $40. in my opinion they're not worth the money u pay and there is no visual increase in light output, they simply look white.

if you don't go piaa which everyone seems to like, try phillips blue visions. i bought them at k-mart for like $12 each and they look white and have decent output, and the price is right!

i think i'm gonna get upgraded harnesses at some point cuz i semi-melted mine with nokya arctic white's. so make sure you upgrade if you go higher wattage. other than that, it's all in preference i guess.

Agreed ExtraVision is the way to go. They do what lights are supposed to do...light the road.

I know 100% that HID is the way to go, but I have a few other things that I wanted to do to the car first. So i'm mainly looking for a good lightbulb for the time being.

I've never attempted to mess with an upgrade harness. Is it a PITA to install, which brand of upgrade harness is good?

Best $10 I ever spent! Now that, combined with the corner light mod makes it look bright.

Now all I have to do is re-aim my headlights....

I have Cuzo Hyper white bulbs - they came with the car when I bought it and they are very white - I bought a cheap hyperwhite bulb - $14 or so from Knechts and it looks really yellow in comparison. I found a replacement source for the Cuzos here
The wattage rating is 12V80/100W

Unless you have upgraded wiring, I hope you are looking forward to melted wiring.

I have phillips bluvisions also. They light up the road much better than the cheap blue ebay bulbs. Plus there only 12 bux a pop. I highly recommend them for they light up the road really well.
