Trunk lock?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix a trunk lock? The release will open it in the car, but the key wont. The key goes in but it wont turn either way? Is the lock screwed, or can I fix it?

sounds like the lock cylinder is fubared. you can either replace it w/ a generic one and have another key or my guess is Nissan could key you a new one for a decent price

it could be a couple of things

1.the key could be worn and is just hard to make it work...try wiggling it a lot and see what happens.

2.Dont know if the max has a valet key but if they do it will not work the trunk or glove box.

3.the lock is froze up or in a bind. Check the rods on the other side and spray some wd40 or something to try and free it up.

There are probably some more things it could be but try those.

while we are on the subject. get this me and my pop owned the car since it was brand new, no dents dings other than some punk that keyed it. my moms van was in the shop so she comandeered my car for a week. in the week there was a dent in the side of the driver door, a broken foglight and she broke one of the keys in the trunk lock. since we were talking about it any one have ideas how to get that key out? havent really thought about it until now
