Air conditioner

Hey my AC went out last summer and i had to suffer for the remainder of that summer and now i want to fix it, now my dad said that i need a new Air conditioner compressor, does anybody know where i can purchase it and how much it would run thanks for the info.

Have you tried some of the peeps that are parting out their Max's on the "for sale" forum? That's probably be the cheapest route. Second, would be a local junk yard. Third would probably be Courtesy Nissan and/or Jerry Rome Nissan. Finally, would be your local Nissan dealership.

But the bigger question would be are you SURE it's the compressor, or another AC-related part?? I'm not doubting your dad, but you can never be too sure....

Before going for the compressor, look for the cheaper alternative. check for leaks first! Without freon, as far as I've been told, the compressor will not work.

You'd better hope nothing else in wrong with your ac system. I would get it checked for leaks and take it from there. I had to get a new evaporator for my car and compressor. It can get pretty expensive. Keep in mind, a new compressor from the nissan dealership (from my neck of the woods) is about $600.
