Should I go to an '03 6-speed?
Should I go to an '03 6-speed?
I just need some help making this decision. I have an '01 20th Annv. edition Automatic now. I bought it new and I now have 13K miles on it. I dont drive alot anymore. The kicker is I only owe $9300 on it. But, I miss stick. And I've driven the 6-speed Max before and I loved it. The rebate and low interest rate has really made me start thinking about it. My dealer found an '03 that they can get for me. They said there was only a few left. The problem is its Merlot with black leather and has the Navigation system. Which I really wouldn't use and I'm not a huge fan of Merlot, but its not bad. My payment would be $342 X 60 mo. and I now pay $248 X 60 mo. for my AE. What do you's think I should do. Am I a dumb *** for even thinking about it? I'd appreciate any replies. Thanks.
Do you have the $ do get a new car? If you do, then go for it. Have you tried looking around for a used 6 speed. I know they are rare but it doesn't hurt to look around.
Since you're buying a brand new car. You should make sure you get a color you want because you'll really regret it later (like I did).

Monetarily they will give you less than you may think for your '01. Used cars are a dime a dozen in this market. The smart thing to do is keep your car or sell it yourself and then look for a used 6 speed (that's what I did). Saved me $6+K over what I would have gitten as my best deal with trade for a new max.
But if you must have a new 6 speed-there is no better time b/c of the rebates and the '04s are pricier.
