AE Door Sills and ECU Hesitation TSB

Sorry guys. What two opposites. Ok heres the scoop. I have a loaded 2k GLE with all options and blah blah blah. Now i want to get the AE door sills but dont know if thats possible. My GLE doesn't have the regular "maxima" sills so im not sure. And if all i want to get the indiglo ones that light up.

OK next question. I've been frequently reading about this hesitation TSB stuff. I am experincing this. Although I am an auto, it still happens. What do i tell my service advisor, so they will perform the update or get rid of the hesitation or have my timing advance or something. Can someone please advise me what to do. The dealer i go to (if any of you schamburg,il people out there) is woodfield nissan and they suck more than anything. They perform oil changes in 10 minutes but never do a good job. Like one time i found oil s*** all over my grill and crap. So if anybody can advise me, that would be great. Thanks

I bought my 2003 SE from Woodfield Nissan, and I also service my g/fs 2000 GXE at Woodfield Nissan. Your comments are incorrect! Woodfield Nissan is a 5-star dealer... their sales staff is helpful and their service staff is great!

If, indeed, you did find stuff on your grill as you mentioned, I'm hoping you pointed it out to them. They would have corrected the problem and detailed your vehicle for FREE. Funny thing is... whenever you go in and have your car serviced, it is supposed to be washed (unless you tell them not to wash it)... so I find it hard to believe that you had oil crap (unless, again, they didn't wash yours by request).

When you go for service, ask for Kevin and he will make sure you are taken care of.

The indiglos will fit on 2003. They are designed to fit 2000-2003 (all trim models). I got my indiglos and they're sweet.

Ok as another 2k auto owner I noticed that the initial response when pressing on the gas was not as expected. It was more like step on it, nothing, more, nothing, then away you go. My wife accused me of being overly aggressive with the gas. Mentioned it to the dealer one time when it was in for service and they took the slack out of the accel cable by making some adjustment to the linkage and the problem is fixed. Much nicer to drive and now I have NO excuse for my sudden takeoffs! Maybe that will help you.

Took mine to Woodfield last Friday with a copy of the TSB in hand (NTB-03-023 for the auto Max/Alty, if I remember correctly). They checked it and sure enough, they will be doing both MAF replacement and ECU reprogramming this next Saturday (they had to order the MAF, reason why they did not do it the same day).
So far so good with Woodfield. Somebody recommended St. Charles Nissan also, but Woodfield is closer to work.
And yes, the TSB is only for 2k2/2k3 Max/Altimas with the 3.5L.

Good luck.

Sounds good. I guess the TSB Hesitation doesnt apply to me because i have a 2k. OK last question and i think im pretty sure. The maxima AE door sills, cannot be seen from inside the car. So the point of having indiglo ones are when you open the door and your headlights are on. Am i correct? Also, can i go to any place and get it rewired to work with the headlights and get it installed? im so busy to even mod the max up. And plus im not a huge racer/modder. Just do some simple things. Thanks guys so much, and for those of you in Schaumburg, we'll meet sometime. I havent seen a fellow org. in my area yet so... Thanks again

I have the same problem with the delayed acceleration. It's starting to be a PITA. How much did it cost you to have this done and do you know if it's simple enough to do it myself. Also, have you seen any other posts about this same problem? I searched but this post is all I came up with. Thanks.

Sure can do it yourself..... Open the hood and look for the 2 cables on the driver's side of the engine. One is for cruise and one is for the pedal. There is a small nut you turn (from the front of the engine) counter clockwise (I believe) to take the slack out of the cable. The car is at work (her baby) and will not be home til late but I will try to remember to snap a pic and post it to the link for you.

So i brought my car in for the hesitation from a dead stop. They test road it and surprising as it is, they didn't feel the hesitation that i was experiencing. They did on the other hand find that there is a TSB for "Lack of power" which we all know about and he upgraded my ECU.
I do now notice that the hesitation from a dead stop is gone, so if you haven't got this TSB done, do it!

Sorry man.. I was in NC over the weekend and my wife kept me busy with stuff around the house last week. The throttle (should be from the bottom pic) the cable on the right looking from the driver's side. if there is play in that cable then turn the assembly counterclockwise to tighten it up. YOu will need to loosen up the lock nut first and retighten it when you are done

Okay so i tightened it up. I think it's pretty close to how tight you got yours. And I definitely feel better resistance in the gas pedal. There is still a point where it goes from "mild mannered" to "screamin" without a gradual increase. It happens maybe around the 3500rpm mark. Do you have that also?
