Anti-theft disabled.

Can the anti-theft be disabled?

The reason I ask, is because I recently purchased this car, but it has no remote for the stock anti-theft function. It has that blinking security light when the door is closed, and the car is off.

Can I just buy a new remote from the dealer and program it using the programming procedure outlined on many discussions? (put key in and out 6-10 times before 10 seconds, etc.). Or do I have to do something extra to enable the security system? I'd hate to drop $50-$100 on a remote to find that the security system has been cut out or something.

Thanks.

Isaac

Just buy a remote off of ebay because it'll be cheaper. The dealers will probably charge around $100, but you can get it from ebay for $25 shipped. I found a seller who had 2 remotes and I got them both for $30.95 shipped

After you get them, just program them using the programming instructions and you won't need anything else. It was real easy to program them
