Power antenna replacement.
Power antenna replacement.
Greetings all,
My power antenna appears to be seized on my 1997 Maxima
. It won't come up when the radio is turned on, but when I turn the radio off I can hear the engine whir a bit. My dealership said that I will have to replace the entire powermast assembly, which will cost about $250.00 for the part plus labour. Can someone tell me if this is really what this part is worth?
Thanks,
Sam.

Sorry about the last post.
Same thing happned to me, except parts had also rusted on.
You may not need to bother doing that- its really simple to replace the antenna and mast. A junkyard part will suffice from a Max that's been in a front-end collision.

Well my dad was in a minor rear end accident, and insuranced covered the antenna (which was broken before accident). Dealership charged around 200-300, so that sounds about right, if you get it new at the Dealer. Lots of moula for an antenna, thats why you need a CD player
