Sumitomo HTR+ tires...loud?

Do you guys think Sumitomo HTR+ tires are loud? I just put them on less than a week, but I noticed when driving, the tire noise was very apparent. Also, I want to make sure of something. The HTR+ tires are non directional right? What I mean is they can be mounted either on the left or right.

Moderators: please delete my other thread. Tks.

I've had my Sumitomo's on for a month now and they aren't loud at all imo. To answer your other question, (from tirerack.com): One of the benefits to the Sumitomo HTR+¡¯s symmetric tread design is that it allows traditional tire rotation patterns to be used (this promotes even tread wear and helps prevent tire pattern noise increases that would accompany uneven tire wear).

Yes, the HTR+s will be loud for about the first 500 miles. After that they get significantly quieter and stickier. I wonder if it has something to do with their heat cycling.

I have not noticed any noises with my htr+ since day 1. But that can be that I came from the stockers, so these tires are alot better then what I had prior.

theyre really loud when braking hard from high speeds, they make a whirling sound almost like a jet turbine...but the slight noise it makes during normal driving i think is nice, gives them a bit of attitude

Another thing too, when you plus size, and get a thinner sidewall, road noise also increases...

Try the Dunlop SP500's next time. Might not last as long but man do the stick to the bitter end. I have 245/45/17. WARNING- do not go with the Yokahama A550 of AVID 4's. They suck. Next set is going to be the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole's. Once you go S-03, you never go back.

The next time I think I'm going to just spend the extra money and get the Toyo T1-S tires. Plus they are super light. With my 17s and the HTR+, the combo only weighs in at 38lbs. That's pretty good already, but I bet with the T1-S, it will be even lighter.
