Took Maxima in for Tune Up. Will I notice a difference ?
hey, I just dropped off my 4th gen Max for a tune up. They will be doing the normal tune up stuff at the dealership. I am also having the throttle body cleaned.
What can I expect from the car after all this ? Its been a long , long time since the last tune up .
Also how can i make sure they used platinum plugs ?

if your car was in bad shape .. yes..
how will you know? only if you pull them out and look at them, at that point you could have done them yourself.

When I did my 60K service I felt a big difference in performance. Much smoother accelleration and more power in the lower RPM range.
I'm sure you'll feel a difference when you pick up your car. Let us know how the car runs when you get it back.

Unless your oil was sludge, your plugs were nearly gone, or your throttlebody had a hairball net stuck in it you really shouldn't notice too much of a diff. What you've done is just prevent the above from happening which is a good thing.
thanks for the replys and opinions, im also having the vehicle speed sensor ordered. the dealership did not have it in, it will be good to have my bad one replaced. also they charge 215 for a tuneup, minus oil and filter changed just had that done a few days ago, and minus stock air filter dont have a stock airbox.

I feel a difference in smoothness and power every time, and I have mine done every 30K.

just got the car ...it has a bit more power..not power like i could make short work of a supra tt but for my max its a bit more quick, and less stressed. Like the car is not working as hard to perform. i also had the throttle body cleaned as well. it feels good !!

I also noticed that our dealer here, when installing new plugs, they use 1 step colder NGKs. I dont let them install my plugs so I go in and buy them to do at home then later realize they were the 1 step colder.
yes, they change out the fuel filter, and yes my wallet is LIGHT ! I need to take a Nissan Mechanics Class.
$327 dollars at the nissan dealership for tune up and throttle body clean out
$320 last week for install of eibach springs and kyb agx's
upcoming cost and this is a killer:
installation of sarona side skirts, sarona rear, replacement oem bumper and stillen front lip PLUS PAINT !
If you ever visit the poor house this summer, you are sure to run into me !

How can you find out if the plugs are a step colder? Do you have to look at the part #? I am about to buy some NGK plats and am just curious.

if you have a plug or plugs in bad condition that could cause misfires then i would bet turning over the motor would be easier with new plugs because its receiving the proper spark from all cylinders.
