cd changer...

I wanna get the cd changer to go along with the stock bose system ('99 GLE). I was thinking of ordering it off jerryromenissan.com ($143)

Does anyone know a place to get it cheaper, and also can someone post a link to an install how-to? If not, I basically just wanna know basically what the installation entails.

hey man i just installed my alpine 6disk cd changer in my glove box, go to my homepage and see it, to make it fit theres 2 parts to the glowe box the door and its housing, they both are removeable, the housing needs to be cut so that the changer fits and the door can shut like stock, i believe the the bose system has a m-bus type 16pin plug that goes to most changers out there, install is vey simple, even easyer to mount in the trunk all you gotta do is connet the 1 wire to the bose, go to maximadriver.com for a guide how to get to the back of you cd player to plug it in... good luck

143 bucks for a CD changer is actually a decent price, especially from a dealership. If you are going to mount your changer in the trunk, be sure to get the trunk mounting kit, which usually costs about an extra 40 bucks.....

Can someone direct a link to the installation of the CD changer in the trunk? I can't find one at maximadriver or anywhere else on-line.

You'd think clarion or whoever the manufacturer is would be smart enough to include at least a small amount of solid state memory for a buffer inside the changer if it is going to be installed in the trunk of a car.

Mine's on the rear deck. But I listen to music unlike some who make others listen to their music.

Seriously, I don't listen to very loud music so I have not had a skipping problem.

the bass from the bose at medium levels was what did it, and it wasn't audible outside the car! :P

the rear bose speakers are quite bass filled at normal settings. I find myself turning it down a step or 2 sometimes when i turn up the stereo just to keep them from popping. they have too much power for their own good.

Re: cd changer...

The 95 install instructions were much better. I used them to install the changer in my 99 SE. I mounted it on the rear deck as in the instructions.

Here is a scanned jpg copy of the 11 pages of instructions. Please do not ask me to put it in a PDF format or in a better html format.
