Custom intake

two questions for you all.....

I am building a custom intake like this .... Intake

i would rather use aluminum or PVC for the mid pipe. where can i find 3" aluminum pipe about 8 to 12" long?

also

i bought a Ractive cotton filter from local performance shop (SF007) it seems kind of small is it enough air flow for the maxima (i like the heat shroud idea that it has) or should i just get a K&N? the guy at the store told me "It's enough for a V-8" i was like sure it is.....
tell me what u think thanks

try custom exhaust shops. those heat shield filters have a very small filter element you wont even believe

got the mid pipe done, took most of the frickin day tried T-304 stainless instead of steel and found out first hand how hard it is to work with. I even had access to a oxy-actelyne torch and it was still a pain went back to steel pipe and bolted everything up, it sound wicked

i could give a damn about looks lol i had better throttle response with the heatshield filter, so im sticking with it, and they all pretty much felt the same except for differences in throttle response
