Fog lights.. Are they light activated?

Picked up my car yesterday and the foglights did not work. Headlights turned all the way on, car running or off, and the fog lights would not come on so I scheduled an appt on Monday for them to look at the problem.

Last night I am messing around with the car at home with the lights on around dusk. I turn the fogs on and they came on.

Is that a loose connection, or are they not supposed to come on until it gets dark outside?

Are they fog lights or driving lights?

Fog lights has a separate **** that is right next to the headlight switch. Make sure they are set to on as well. Hope this helps.

Yeah, we turned the thing on and off and on and off probably 10 times but they never came on. Worked fine last night though.

Make sure that the highbeams were not on because foglights become disabled with highbeams.
