Cross Drilled vs Slotted
Honestly, for "most" of the people that have either of them... absolutely nothing.
F1 drivers use slotted to help the pads bite. Then they throw them away after the race.
Crossdrilled are supposed to vent gasses to the atmosphere to improve braking. With new pad compounds that isn't as prevelant a problem anyway.
If you are just taking the occasional backroad a little faster... I don't see either giving you a "noticeable" difference in braking performance above and beyond the increase you would see by getting a rotor with improved compounds (i.e. Brembo).
I *do* have cross-drilled rotors, but I think I would have noticed the same increase in braking performance had I gotten the non-cross drilled version of the same rotor.
Also, DO NOT listen to anyone that says anything about cracking rotors because they are cross-drilled or slotted UNLESS it has happened to them... not their sister or somebody they knew in sixth grade.
Basically, get the ones you like better.
If you are going to start entering SCCA events... then you will have to wait for someone with real experience there to tune in.

I agree..... Cross drilled and slotted rotors have about the same performance as the brakes that are already on your car, unless you go with one of the Big Brake kits sold by any one of a number of top manufacturers (brembo, wilwood)...... They actually use larger rotors in your brake system, and do show a minimal increase in stopping power. If you get the 2 piece rotors, then it may also help with weight reduction as well.
