Anyone riding on 225-50-16's on stock SE Wheels?

Is this combination ok for the stock SE wheels? I'm thinkin of buying some new tires for a good deal with this size.
Thanks,
Dan

Hows the sidewall flex compared to stock as far as handling? I currently have 225/55, and miss the handling of stockers.

Sidewall flex on my 225/50/16 HTR+ Sumitomo's is minimal.

How can you guys feel such a minimal difference in tire height!? I mean the difference between a 225-55 and a 225-50 isnt much. Another friend and I are running 225-55, while my other friend is running 225-50's and they difference is nill in the handling department...

I've got the 225/50's....they're nice...but they still lack bite. I'd never go thinner...and why go taller? I'm just dying to get some Potenza S0-2's on my front tires.

I think they are talking about the difference in width. The stock size is 215/55 so the 225s are wider then the rim. If the tire is wider than the rim the sidewall bulges out and you get more sidewall flex.

It could be as much tire construction/brand/model as it is actual sidewall width. The only true test would be for someone to try the same tire in 2 different sizes. I know that they Dunlop SP Sport A2 comes in both 225/15 and 215/55, but I do not know anyone who has tested them back-to back...

i'm currently running 225/50/16 and i'm goin' back to stock size tires 215/55/16 even though i have 50's the tire size is still too wide for that rim in my opinion and i had better cornering on stock than on this...just my opinion

I've had both 225/50 and 225/55 and I will always from now on ride on 55's because I do alot of highway driving and they ride smoother..Just mt $0.02............

Mine ride and corner way better than the stockers. It's rediculous. Wider is, in fact, better. Sidewall flex is non-existant. These tires really are not too wide for the stock SE 5 spokes.
