Sup guys, my friend @ skool has been busting my chops to race me, i mena don't get me wrong were racing soon, but on some back road when conditions are right. I live in utah, so snow and ice are a factor some of the time!!! Well He has a 1.8turbo bug, and he just got a whole exhaust system, and an intake. Have any of you guys raced tehse puppies? For how ugly they look (oh thats asking for flames) they should go pretty slow, but they ARE a lgiht car for that engine...I usually criticize people for asking about other cars instead of just racing them, but i am really curious about these things =) THank for da info, I am stock 5spd 97

it'll be good comp, but if its a that POS "Turbonium" VW Bug....you'll kick his ***, its only got 150hp and is butt ugly too boot!

 

If he's just got what U've mentioned ... NOT chipped, and ya got 5SPD ... U'll blow by his Ugly, Girlie (sorry just my Opinion) bug like no tomorrow!!

If its CHIPPED ... U should worry a bit ... might come real Close!!!

The turbo's are two small...........

 

..I've taken a few V6 Passats off the line without any problem

Actually, it was 14.99 that I saw the Bug run....But, thats still 14's!

On the same day I ran a 14.38, my buddy in his chipped Passat 1.8T 5 speed ran a 14.94 @ 92.4 mph with a 2.09 60 ft! I was impressed. But, Mad Max still handed him his @#@ on a platter. BWAHAHAHHAHAHAA!

 

I thought you were asking about the old bugs. I put in a Porsche engine in my sucka, and YES it would surely beat a Maxima.
