HID Recall ????

I just heard a rumor from a coworker about a Nissan recall related to the 2002, 2003 HIDs.... Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

Is it possible that Nissan is finally volunteering to take out the Xenon headlights for customers in the "High Theft" regions?

Would they be giving us back the $1,000 difference in price as well?

Like you said, it's a rumor. Those usually turn up being a lie.

I was kinda hoping a certain Nissan service/parts rep. would reply with an inside answer. After the run around I got from some dealers regarding the "Hesitation TSB," I wasn't expecting a truthfull answer from the service department.

BTW - Nice grill... I was wondering what it would look like on my color Max.

well, I30's have a bottom bolt that requires removal of the bumper to get them. They could just redesign the housing and 1 hour shop time to remove the bumper cover. They could reuse your ballasts and burners even.. wouldnt cost them near as much as its costing you guys up north.

OK...but if they did do this then the theives still would not know and would still f*ck up ur car to try and get them so its still like 2 g's in damage....so there is really nothing to be done but get a garage or be LUCKy

I hope nissan does something soon. At times I think I should have just got the 04 Maxima. I dont think it as nice as my 2k3, but maybe it would be less of a headache. Who knows. later

I don't think Nissan will do anything about this... I'm sure they've known about it for quite some time.

I think they should modify them to explode 10 minutes after someone cuts the wires and steals them.

Maybe Nissan is doing it so that they can build up their inventory of HID's to sell to people that have had them stolen.

This HID thing has caused me never to park my car out of site, and I don't live in a bad area either. I just go to the gas station, quick rides, and places where I can see the car if I'm not in it. Damn shame.
