Gxe Stock Air Intake Warning

Just thought I would pass this along, when you wash your car with a pressure washer put a rag or something to block the air intake behind the driver side head light.

I didn't the first time I washed MAX and some water dripped down into the air tube then got sucked into the air filter. Needless to say there was an emediate drop in power.

I caught it right away and changed the filter but I'm sure if it was left that way for long it could effect other systems.

uhhh...i use pressure washers before but that never happened to me. the headlight assembly blocks the water from getting into the pipe in the first place. i don't know how you managed to do that

Yea, it dosen't happen in the rain. But when I wash the car the water gets in there. The seal looks OK maybe mine is just screwed.

I see that the head light assembly is there to block the rain water but I thought the higher pressure water was getting past there.

that strip of rubber seal on the hood that covers the top of each headlight assembly might be worn out.
