Now I know why I haven't been around lately...

when I saw this thread tonight... http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=229232

I instantly remembered that the last time I was here, which was like over two months ago, I got so sick of seeing so many riced out maximas that it almost made me puke.

I don't believe I have ever come out and told anyone on here that their car is ugly. However, seeing so many people on here saying this car is cool, really makes me feel out of place.

Maybe I should just step up and buy a 6th Gen as those cars are newer and have not had the chance to be riced (raped).

Yes...I am venting. Sorry.

If any of you have noticed that there seems to be more and more (and way too much) ricing of our beloved 5th gens, please speak up....

man u must be on crack, most of the org members have nice maximas that are not riced out. If you go to any other forums HONDA for example that is where u will se Rice.
BTW I like what that guy did to his max, at least it is original.

True...MOST of the maximas on here have not been riced out. However...it seems as though they are multiplying...and I fear that soon this place will look like one of those honda forums.

If I painted a rebel flag on my hood that would be original. But....it would still be ugly.

Not to start a flame war or anything, but it's interesting that you're ranting about rice when technically using "white" bulbs for foglights is the very definition of Rice - that is, modifying appearances through non or less functional than OEM parts.

Granted, those white lights may help you see a little better at night, it doesn't help at all when it comes to the true function of foglights.

Just my 2c. And no harm intended

Maybe you should take another 2 months off. Wouldn't want you puking on our cars. People forget the purpose of the forums. Don't really want to get too much into it. But what fun would it be if everyone's car in here looked the same? Its one thing to state an opinion, but to write a post on puting someone's car down?
Sad...

I am not putting that car down...I just think it is ugly. My opinion. Just like if I got a certain mod, and you thought the mod was stupid, and you told me so. That would just be your opinion.

I just think that our cars are a step above civics and the like...and are more "refined sport tourers" than "boy-racer pocket rockets"

Anywho...like I said...once a car becomes cheap enough...people will do whatever it takes to be "original"...no matter how ugly being "original" means. Again...ugly here is my opinion. You may think those rims are phat and the body kit is tight...that is your opinion. You may also think Janet Reno is a hottie. Your opinion.

But that wasn't the point of your original post. The point of that one was (as far as I can tell):

You don't like "riced" Maximas
In your opinion, maxima.org has too many "riced" Maximas
Looking at / being around so many "riced" Maximas troubles you

So, the answer is pretty straightforward: either you're going to decide you can handle the rice-ness, or you leave again. Because, this being an Internet forum open to anyone, everyone has an equal right to be here.

That said, as a member you also have as much right as anyone else to state your opinions. However, there are also social dynamics to consider, so maybe this example will help. I can say to someone "your wife is ugly", and that might be my valid opinion. However, I should also expect repercussions from this statement, because in effect I've just insulted something that the person holds dear to their heart (hopefully ). So yes, you can state your opinion - and yes, everyone who's insulted can equally flame you for it.

So what you're saying is that you base your feeling on your own car on what other people do to the same car?

Why do you care so much what other people do to their own 5th gens? You don't have to drive them. I've only made a few small cosmetic mods to mine such as clear corners, AE pedals, tint and debadging it. I couldn't care less if someone else wants to paint theirs yellow and orange and put a huge wing on it. If anything it makes mine look that much classier in comparison. To each his own. That's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. My $.02.

Well...my whole point is this:

Seeing all the rice makes me feel out of place because I don't like riced maximas. Kind of like watching TV. If you did not agree with or enjoyed watching Howard Stern...you wouldn't watch him.

Look! He is being honest, that is one ugly max. Is this the type of car that we want representing the Maxima community at shows, "I think not"?
The first thing some a-hole that don't know anything about Maxes will say when they see this car is "Maximas are rice".
I also think it's ugly and if the owner likes it that's great. This is only a forum and my opinion doesn't really matter.

Nice

Yanno 00GXE5Sp not to be rude or anything, But the exact wheels that are on your car are WAYYY played out. The reason i say this is because EVERY riced out vehicle in my area and from what i have seen online has those wheels, not saying they are rice but just saying people have different taste and it seems like you fall into the category of everyone who wants to look the same.

Man... I hate went people don't know what the word RICE means....!!!
The tailight conversion that he did was the shiett.... tell me one person willing to do that or even try that... Shieett, that guy gots ******... more than anyone on the board when it comes to body modification... If you don't like it, don't vent... go on to the Honda forum and Vent about the double stacker Wings they have...

Oh yeah... one more thing... get yourself the 04 max, stay getting older, and let the org. prevail, not start from scratch...and one more thing... you might say he's ricey, but at least he doesn't look like everyone on the Road...

key word: MODIFICATION.... not Old Man Syndrome, which you have...and by the way... i am not a punk teen eitther... this is coming from a Mid-20yr. old....

It's amazing!!! I thought I was back at b15sentra.net. This is why I LIKE boards. EVERYONE gets to voice.

Me. . .I appreciate the work people put into their rides, be they, IMO, good bad or 'uggy. And really, isn't seeing nuts-out pics really better than TV?

Yeah boy, those tails were sump'm else. . .Don't let the Altezza people find out.

It's not the worse I've seen. I once saw a 4th gen with a ragtop in Baltimore. So, if you want to puke, puke at that. The guys front fender is ugly but besides that it's a nice car, especially the tail light conversion.

Maybe you should have never come back, ah?

I don't believe I have ever come out and told anyone on here that their car is ugly. However, seeing so many people on here saying this car is cool, really makes me feel out of place.

If you have something to say about a car, say it in the thread regarding it. Crying like a baby and making a whole thread about it does not help.

Maybe I should just step up and buy a 6th Gen as those cars are newer and have not had the chance to be riced (raped).
Ya that's a great idea, buy your self a new un-tainted maxima. God for bid, someone tampered with your self image.

Yes...I am venting. Sorry.

If any of you have noticed that there seems to be more and more (and way too much) ricing of our beloved 5th gens, please speak up....
The only thing I have noticed is that more and more people are becoming involved with modifying there car's. Now a day's it's trendy, it's the cool thing to do. The people who started it off years and years ago are now known as just another "ricer".

And now I remember why I hardly ever post on this site any more myself..
