Blown Engines

Pleas post if you've blown up your engine, how and why it blew. This will help people to understand what to do and not to do when it comes to boost.

My engine has 5 cylinders...not boost related though. That would have been a "more fun" way of blowing it.

I blew my stock SI engine by over boosting. my wastge gate didn't open because an air hose was cracked and leaking air.

went to about 18 psi of boost, then car started jerking so i pressed in the clutch and saw the oil pressure gauge go all the way down. knew the motor was dead right away.

i blew countless amount of motors even built motors with pistons and rods and many more. It all depends are how much and how far ur willing to take ur car to. i went through 3 stock motors and one built motor. . I have learned to keep the boost down the hard way. anything over 12psi i dont recommend. Even tunned i blew my motor at 14psi. Highest i taken my motor was 18psi on stock and 20psi on built motor on t3/to4e. 20psi= VERY FUN

Mine blew from running to lean. Had 0 psi in 1 cyl and 20 psi in 2 others.
The other three where fine. All the blown cyl were in the front bank. Go figure.
