psing, the $100 kits on EBAY are mostly junk. Before you buy ANY kit, I suggest you contact the seller and get SAMPLES sent to you to see what you are getting, as well as a diagram of the exact parts you will receive. Not all kits are created equal. Most kits are only manufactured by one of several companies that you see from the listing on autodash.com. (B7I, Florida Auto Trim, Superior etc.) My kit is made by B&I. I have also dealt with http://www.wood-dash.com and this place has done the right thing for me on more than one occasion, including a very nice REAL Burlwood kit for my wife's 96 Maxima. Go to that site and CALL that place, speak to Eddie, he is a good guy. Their prices are extremely reasonable. They did my custom carbon fiber exterior parts, and when you make it to the next NYC Max meet, you will see in person!

Also, stripeman.com sells some additional pieces to enhance the regular kits. The one I bought from exoticwooddash.com came with the all the pieces for the radio, doors, around the intruments, the clock, back console, glove box and cupholder cover. But around the radio, it was only the flat pieces that covered the front. From stripeman.com, I bought strips that covered the sides of the radio, and the half circle shaped pieced the covers the flat surface above the hvac controls. If anyone wants a picture, letme know and I can post it.

ye please post i gotta see what how it looks... does it match well? i mean i dont have much experience with this type of stuff but i figure like 2 different manufacturers have to have some differences between there patterns and way they make it... can u tell that they are 2 different kits? post pics please

yeah, the ones from stripeman are just LITTLE darker. The difference is only noticeable in direct sunlight, and only if you know to look for it. No one who has ever looked at it ever noticed the difference.

I will get some pictures up on my website and post a link. I have been meaning to do it for a while now, this gives me motivation to do it.

I ordered from exoticwooddash because they have additional pieces that stripemans didnt (I think stripeman did not have the pieces to go around the side defog vents or the strip that goes on the glovebox, I am not sure so dont quote me on it)

Actually, I dont have the piece that actually goes around the guage cluster, just the piece that goes below it, on the dash part above the steering wheel. To put the piece on the guage cluster, it seems obvious that you have to take the plastic shield off. Not something I care to do.

Anyway, I have the picture up now. Go to:

http://www.cooleywire.com/jimmyh

or directly to my maxima page:

http://www.cooleywire.com/jimmyh/maxima/index.html

I have pictures of all the interior showing the wood pieces. Incidentally they are the medium burl. I also have pictures of the car with the snow tires on. (Plastic wheel covers, gagh!)

I was under the impression that the guage piece went on top of the plastic?! Anyone else care to comment?

Jimmy, It looks like exotic wood dash screwed you over too! You have a 5 speed, but the shifter surround is for the automatic! They did the same thing to me, and they could care less after I got it and figured out it was NOT for the 5 speed!! Not to worry, call 1-800-396-3274, talk to Eddie at NE Wood Dash. If you send him a sample of the wood from the kit you have, he will make you the CORRECT 5 Speed shifter piece AND the ashtray surround for about $35. He will match your wood and it will look great! Trust ME!!!!!!!

Later!
