Anybody have experience with the Vortech Super FMU

I am going to 370 cc/min injectors sometime before the end of the year. I understand I need an adjustable fpr to lower the base fuel pressure, and I will have to recalibrate the fmu as low as it can go (3:1, I guess) because I don't intend to increase boost until later. Right now I'm running at 8-9 psi with the 3.25" pulley (V1 blower). I might go ahead and do a small boost increase by going to the 3.125" pulley, or maybe a 3". I already have a safcII for fine tuning. I will also need a boost bleed valve (based on what Matt's setup). I am staying with an unmodified ECU.

The Vortech super fmu is an adjustable fpr with an integrated boost bleed valve. It's a bit pricey at $300+, but it looks like it has the features I need.

Any reason I should stay away from it? I'm considering going this route even though it is more expensive than buying an AEM fpr and separate boost bleed valve because the fmu I have is several years old, and being a mechanical device it has a finite life, and the fmu is not something you want to have malfunctioning.

You mean cartech and sard.

SFMU will adjust base fuel pressure, Cartech wont. If I was doing my set up from scratch I would get a SFMU, but I had an adjustable FPR laying around so I used it. Get the SFMU.

Well, there you have it. The master has spoken. Thanks, Matt.

So your saying the stock FPR is good enough and with the ability to adjust idle fuel pressure with the SFMU.

And is that better than a adjustable FPR and FMU?

Or is it cheaper/simpler in the long run just to get the SFMU?

Sorry for the questions, I am trying to understand what works best.

You will need to remove the factory FPR and use the SFMU to lower the base fuel pressure.

All I know is i'm running the 8:1 disc with my 3.125" V1 w/Walbro hi-flow FP on stock FPR/stock injectors. I'm going to order an AEM FPR and call it a day, drop my FP ~6psi across the powerband hopefully. I am hoping for big gains this way, especially straight off of idle, without having to shell out bigger bucks for an SAFC.
