what model max?

Hi. My girlfriend just bought a 1989 max in great shape. I drove it a few times and it is a really solid car. I was impressed. My question is.......what model is it..SE, GXE...how do I find out. There are now badges or decals on the car. Is there a door code or anything? I am thinking it is the GXE model, because it has the bose stereo and every option that I could imagine. Can anyone help out. I also have a stereo Q that i will post later. Thanks.

check the 3rd gen faq post at the top of the page. In there you will find a linke to Craig B's site. Go there for comparison. Also check some of the other links because they may have comparrisons too...I think Brians may but not sure.

I have a 89 GXE but with a rear spoiler and it's not the spoiler with the rectangle brake light on it, it's has a thin red light that is almost the length of spoiler.

Makes sense. I bought the car last year and always wondered why I never saw any Maximas with spoilers like mine. I thought the spoiler was stock.

TAKE IT FROM AN EXPERT, "moi"...

SE has got a maximum speed of 145 mph
while GXE is only 125 mph

just because it has that on the speedometer doesnt mean thats the top speed. Besides the 89-91 SE has the same speedometer (not color but same scale) as the GXE not to mention the same motor.
