something you may not know...

I was browsing the 6th gen forum last night, and ran across a post where a member said that you can use the steering wheel mounted radio controls to seek radio stations and switch between CDs in the changer.

To seek up or down, press and hold the "preset station up" or "presetn station down" button. To switch between CDs, do the same. I tried the seeking of radio stations, and it worked, but I didn't try switching CDs. I'm sure it works as well though.

Now we all can be just a tad bit more lazy.

No, I didn't. I skimmed the Owner's Manual, looking for important info, and must've overlooked this tidbit.

i didnt know about the seek part of it.

also, you can use the MODE button to turn the headunit on, and to toggle through FM/AM/CD.

note: i think its the MODE button. i dont have my car right now so i cant go double check. whatever the buttin is called, its the button above the TRIP button.

Does that mean...

That it throws a different signal when you hold it? I was trying to get it to do that when I installed and programmed my PAC SWI-X (steering wheel remote control adapter) but it wasn't having it.

No, same result here on my PAC. I just did button combos...If I hold the vol buttons together at the same time it turns on the ATT, if I hold the up and down seek buttons at the same time it switches to CD, if I hold the down seek and the mode button together it switches between the different bands and sets of presets.

You may not realize that you can unload/load all the CD's by holding the unload/load button down for a few seconds. Just another tip that may not be obvious.

No kidding? I've been looking for a way to get my ATT function to work! What kind of head unit to you have? I've got a Kenwood and the think that sucks is I don't have a way to switch folders on my MP3 CDs. I wonder if using the button combos will work? Thanks!
