Will aftermarket wheels void warranty.

I've got an extended warranty on my Max. Bumper to bumper till 60,000. I've got a strut bar and aftermarket wheels. I think my struts are about shot, I'm at 42,000 miles. Do you think the dealership may say something about wheels and strut bar playing a part in bad struts. I think the mounts are going bad because upon hard acceleration if I hit any kind of bump it makes a loud thump and it feels like the wheels leave the ground. Also at high speeds 80 certain parts of Interstate make the steering wheel shake and it feels like the wheels go up and down and loose contact with the road.
Need opinions if anyone has encountered this problem or if you have had experience with dealership regarding my problem. Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think "wear items" such as brake pads, struts, clutches, tires, etc are covered in our warranties.

Wheels and FSTB have no effect on warranty. Original struts are only covered for 36k miles-time for aftermarket replacements. Engine mounts, if bad, are covered by your extended warranty.

depends on the dealer. If you have larger and different offset after-market wheels, that will effect un-sprung weight, that will effect wheel bearing wear pattern, and speed wear on struts, due to additional weight, etc. BUT in general, struts are not usually covered by warranties. FSTB have no adverse effects ...

So you're saying that the warranty only covers power train. I wouldn't see any point on buying the extended warranty. My wheels are 17's not too much bigger than factory. I'm just going to have to call and check to see what is covered.

Dealers come up with stupid excuses all the time. It all depends on what dealer you deal with.

I know that at the dealer I deal with, those things would not void the warranty.

well, why don't you have your stock equipment installed back before taking it to the dealership... that way they can't deny the warranty, if they do threaten them that you will sue their @ss

That's what I was thinking but it a lot of work without an impact gun and lift. I think I'll try one dealership and if not try the other.
