I dropped my car off for the infamous bumper TSB today and they screwed it up again but I won't bore you with that mess. Anyway, there was a Gray Lustre 2001 AE maxima in the showroom with tan SUEDE seats. I'm not crazy about the tan with Gray Lustre, but the SUEDE was awesome. Made me realize how cheap the stuff in my car really is. Anyway, I did do a search, but if anyone else saw one and has already posted, then I apologize. But it was pretty cool looking.

Ive seen it before on an old lexus. But if you think about it, it looks great new, but can you imagine how nasty it would get? Think about a hot summer day. Getting into your car sitting on Suede seats, sweating on them... they would get all discolored and gross...

That's a good point - I guess I was just caught up in the moment and frustrated that my frost colored leather looks bad right now because my blue jacket that I wear everyday seems to have left some color and no matter how much leather cleaning stuff I use, it won't come off. But, you do make a very good point.

Thanks.

Dealer Add Ins

Probably one of those aftermarket dealer add-ins that costs a bundle and makes more money for the salesman - you know, you "gotta have it", "looks great"! I saw a car at a Nissan dealer, it was a 2K GXE, but it had custom leather seats, it had a flat wood dash kit installed, it had some special striping on the exterior, and the sticker was about $29K - FOR A GXE!!!! Sheesh, they must really think we are pretty stupid! I think it had the magic undercoating too!

Next thing you know, engines will be options. "Oh.. did you want an engine in your car? That'll be 8 grand..."

not suede

I have the AE without leather and the factory grey/black cloth seats feel like suede but they are not.

Check to see if this AE had the climate control or heated seats, If I am right it should not, it is in the leather package.

Good question - I'll check - I am pretty sure it had climate control because I looked inside, but I didn't look for the heated seat buttons. I pick up my car tomorrow and I'll double check.

Yea...its not suede. Most of the SE pathfinders without leather have it...its like a really really nice felt. Its a great alternative to leather.
