YIKES!! hte knocking noise is BACK!!

i was cleaning the IACV today and when i turned on the car again, i noticed that the whirling/knocking type noise is back in hte timing chain area. i got the TSB done a few weeks ago at the nissan dealer for 250 and now it seems as if hte noise is back. i called hte dealer and they said their so called machanics have to listen to it. what else could this noise be? bad steering pump, water pump
if it is hte timing chain tensioner again, the dealer should replace for free, correct?

Dealers do not repare stuff from TSBs for free - only recalls.

If it turns out you're having problems with the same thing they worked on, then it should be under warranty since dealers usually warrant their repairs for 12 months/12,000 miles...at least at my local dealer. Show up with your receipt.

Thats right. If you just got it repaired you are still under warranty. If they say its something else then you can decide on your own if u want them to do it or do it yourself.

Could be almost any one thing or a combo of things. My whirling noise maker was the starter! I occasionally hear the timing chain rattle at startup too. Lately, another whirling sound has started so it may mean something else is failing.
