CAI, How do i install it ??

I bought one of those $50 cold air intakes off of ebay. the pipe runs down and the filter is right below the fans . Now i cut my MAF sensor wires and added more wire to extend it all the way down. did i do it right?? if i were to keep the MAF right b4 the midpipe the battery would be blocking the CAI pipe and the filter would be getting hot air from the radiator. Is this the way 2 hook it up??

i think the maf is supposed to be before the midpipe, ive never heard of anyone cutting thy're maf wires and extending them, i think that was unecessary. it might be the type where your supposed to cut a hole in your fender.

Those are great instructions, with pics too! BTW, do you know what brand that CAI kit is? Looks like PR.

I've been thinking and it seems like it is PR. The Injen doesn't use that location for the intake tube. This is a better location because the cone filter sits in an isolated area totally shielded from the engine compartment, as long as the hole for the second resonator under the battery tray is plugged.

I was in the same place as you a couple weeks ago.. picked one of those sets off ebay but no template, i just eyeballed it...

use these picks

https://maxima.org/shoptalk/sub_modi...raphics/14.jpg

https://maxima.org/shoptalk/sub_modi...raphics/15.jpg

https://maxima.org/shoptalk/sub_modi...raphics/18.jpg

with those you should be able to create a template of your own and dont worry the CAI is pritty forgiving you have a little room to move it around if your cut is off a little. for the drill saw you should go with the 3.5" then go to home depot and pick up some rubber tubbing... then with a knife cut the tubbing opening it up, this will provide you with the lining that the instructions speak of that you dont have... then fit it around your cut hole.. be sure to spray some anti rust paint around the cut area, it would be a pain in the *** to get rust.

hope this helps... any other questions just ask
