WHAT IS A DREMEL (?)
I was wondering what this is and how you guys used it to make your clear corners. How did you use the sandpaper and what for? What grit? what do you mean by painting the orange lense? Is it the thing where you slip in the lightbulb? or is it the inner reflector? Does the same directions apply for the rears? Can you use a blow drier to remove the orange thing to seperate it?
If I can do this, I think I'm gonna try doing altezza's
Don't care what you guys think of them

Dremel is the brand of a rotary tool that has a spinning cylindrical bit on the end of it. You can put different types of bits at the end of it for sanding purposes, etc...

I am planning to do all my cosmetics by hand. I will not spend that much money on clear lights. With the help and advice of you guys, I will surely be able to do it. I Wov you guys

Will I be able to take about the corner light assembles by using a blow drier? It seems to be stuck together (glue?). I sorta chipped alittle bit of the outside cover, but thank goodness it is at the edge where it will be covered by the bumpers and it was only on one of them

Hardest part, disassembling the dang corner to paint the reflector! arghh! I hope the rear taillights aren't this hard.
I just read about a guy making AE-like headlamps. I think I'm gonna use his procedure. I'm sure it will work with the 5th generation as with his 4th gen.
What other cosmetics after the lights? :naught: give me some ideas guys and gals!
What do you mean, "I just read about a guy making AE-like headlamps."? Was this posted on maxima.org? I don't recall this.
I am presuming somebody is attempting to replicate the "bronze" look. Is this what you are referring to?

I don't suggest baking your headlights because they're made out of plastic... but to each their own.

I just finished painting the corner lights that came with my car. I had to paint it grey, then lightly apply 3 coats of white. Orange plastic is HARD!! The edges that didn't get painted, I used liquid papper (whiteout). I used superglue to glue the clear lense to the housing at first, then this morning when I went to pop them out to paint, I just slightly hit the lense and it popped out. Word of advise, don't use superglue It does not and will not hold up in time and weather. I then used windshield/glass silicone sealant. Expensive at $6/tube. These take about an hour to dry, but I had my corners on my car within the first five minutes and drove around and It didn't fall off. Becareful, silicon is cancerous.
