iight this the deal. i only have one key for my car and i took it to the shop and shen i brought it back home i missplaced the key to it. now i don't know what to do. can a lock smith make another key for a car with out having the orginal? how can i go about getting another key made? please help i will need to get this done asap. i will be leaving this weekend to go back to school and i need some stuff out of my car b4 i leave please help

 

take your car registration and pink slip too (or anything to verify you're the owner of the car) to the dealership service department... they'll pull out your key info and make you a brand new key for under $10.

they need:

-verification of ownership
-VIN

haha yeah, my coworker has an old '94 mazda 626... and her only copy of the key broke in her trunk keyhole somehow. She was about to spend $160 for a locksmith to make him a key. Luckily, I was goin to work and saw her in the parking lot fiddling w/ the trunk. She got a copy made for $6. Then, she took me out for lunch
