SOOO ****ed -- tapped a friends car

I dont know how it happened. He has a 1990 BMW 535i which has a lot of dings, but still...i left another one. So his car was parked on the street and there was another car way in front of him. I went to turn in between to kinda pull over and drop him off. I didnt realize his car was parked at a weird angle to the street and as I cut in to make sure i had room behind the car in front of me for when i pulled out, i cut it too sharp and he said **** and then i realized my rear door had hit his bumper. Left some nice little scratches on my car...similar to a shopping cart and left a nice small crack in his bumper. I still dont know if he will have me pay but I'm worried how much it will be if he does! I'm so ****ed! And i just went to a driving school this morning for accident avoidance!

If he's a good friend then he won't make you pay since he has other dings and scratches already.

If you're a good friend, you'll try to fix it for him even though he has so many other dings and scratches. It's the thought that counts since it won't help much

Im thinking of giving him my extra sub that he was thinking about buying but didnt have the money. Worth about $80-100...nowhere near the damage probably, but seems fair to me. Any ideas people?

Why don't you just be honest and ask him. Ask him how do you want to resolve this. It's your fault so if the wants you to fix it for him, then fix it.

Thats what i intend to do. He already had an appt at the body shop tomorrow for the old dings so we'll see what happens there. I know i am responsible and if i am asked to pay, i will.

Sometimes if you ask a good friend if you should pay or not...they will say no. If it were me, do not put your friend in the hot seat to make the decision.

If you feel that badly about the damage..just go up to him and say you are going to fix it, not argument. That way you will never have to feel bad when you see the car. A sub is a nice guesture..but if you had to see a crack in your Max's bumper everyday..that would drive you nuts.

My 2 cents.

Yeah, but at the same time, I simply don't have the money i can assume it would cost to replace a bumper, especially for such a minor crack. It just ****es me off even more knowing I will be out a lot of money, and I will still be having marks on my Max...all because i was too tired and wasnt focusing enough. Well, it was just a bad driving day and its over now, what are you gonna do...
