Does anyone know how to safely shave of my trunk emblems on my '99 Maxima. Since my Maxima is black I don't want to screw up the paint so what can I use to remove the excess glue that will remain on my trunk? I've heard that some people use dental floss. Will this work?

Yep lots of people have used dental floss, then clean the area with wd-40 and then waxed the area they have all said it worked fine...

first melt it with a heat gun or very hot blow dryer

then peel it off with the help of dental floss.
but make sure it's very hot (the doubleside tape becomes this goo) so it comes off easier.

I used a credit card and some WD40. Take your time and don't rush, I think it took me like 45 mins to take the nissan logo off. When your done, just wax the area.

I did it with my bare fingers. My thumbnails bled for awhile, but everything came off easily, including the glue. It is definitely not the best way to do it, in fact, it hurt a lot. But I was just looking at the letters one day, wondering how hard it would be to pull them off, and the next thing I knew they were all gone. I would try the dental floss/heat gun method.
