No problems with cops, Just make sure u have amber or red turn signals in there. I have no problems so far with mine. Make sure u coat them ast least 6 times. I'm going to put another coar of clearcoat on mine again to try to bring the gloss up to the car. Take your time and they will come out great. My homepage has the pics.

How much did you pay from the body shop?

When you paint them, they are still legal. The circles will still be reflective so it won't matter at night. If you drive at night, you see the rear reflection of parked cars (looks like the lights are on), and I'm pretty sure the circles will still reflect at night so don't worry about it.

Just make sure you use orange/amber bulbs for the turn signals

Can we still see light even from the side of the car after painting the altezzas?

In some states, if not all, there has to be a visable red light when looking at the side of the car. Which, is why the 1197 bulbs are in the tails and the sides are also reflective. If you could see red through the paint at night, it would be ok.

Just paint the housing like jepht suggested. Its pretty tough opening those altezzas without them cracking however. Not many members have had a lot of luck. hacim105 is the only guy I know thats been successful, along with some other black 4th gen.

do a search for hacim105 and click his homepage link to see the pics.
