2k2 SE vs Dinan M3 vs WRX

What a wierd night. I'm cruising down the street here in Irvine and see a Dinan older M3. I just wanted to see how fast these things got so we started driving pretty hard down Culver. Then a WRX sees us and guns it and stops with us at the next light. All 3 lanes are taken up by us, the M3 just shat on the competition. I got owned....oh well it's fun seeing that thing fly

i had something happen like that to me too, i was in the street with my girl looking for a spot to do a little somethin when i see a integra with a loud a$$ exhaust it pulls up next to me and he beats me to the light were both now heading to the expressway when out of nowhere a mustang must of been a 00 and up model flies by both of us . i try to catch up but it was too fast for my auto. the integra i was putting up a fight but left too. oh and might i add that there was a riced out civic trying to gain on all of us but that was really slow. this gave me motivation to start modifying my ride. i put up a thread just like this but it disappeared i guess no one belived me this was a true event. i swear. this is the very first time something like this happens to me

well to get the Dinan badge you have to get 10 of their points. He could have easily achieved all ten points with simple Dinan bolt ons and suspension mods... Plus the last time I raced an older M3 was in my TL, so I wanted to see how the max would fair... Fun shizz...

Well, I ran a Dinan 5 series on the freeway, before all my audio mods, and I owned his dirty hitler infested butt ! Im sure his Dinan logo was fake. I know that I ran a real Dinan modded M3 that was a 99, in my WS6 , and I ate him up and spit him up like a Bavrian cream pie. The best part is that the car belonged to the " owner " of the local BMW dealer !

good point. but i dare say that 'most' bmw owners aren't apt to apply badges needlessly, at least far less likely than a civic driver. if i see a bimmer with badges, i think it's possible that they're just for show. whereas if i see a civic/accord with markings all over, i think it's probable.

in either case, i'd be too embarassed to run anything that said dinan on it. of course, there was that taurus with an AMG badge.

Those M3's are pretty sick cars. I was cruising around last night and came across a newer M3, possibly 02-03 speeding up behind my rearview when he finally flew by. Right behind him giving chase was this older POS toyota celica. They lined up at the light ahead with me behind the M3, so I decided just to try and see if I could catch up with the M3, or at least leave the celica behind in 3rd. Both took off and surprisingly by the end of 2nd gear, the M3 only had me by alil over a car length. :eek :

At the next light ahead, they weren't quite lined up as the celica was behind a minivan, which he almost slammed into coming from a stop on the previous run, and I was behind the M3. When the light turned green, the celica had to cut around the minivan and the M3 waited for him to do so b4 they both took off, with the M3 of course taking that run. I decided to hang back on that one becuz I knew the would be out. Better safe than sorry, but I wish I had a Valentine

It was an older looking celica, possibly 90's, but I doubt it was that model. Don't know much about the aftermarket support for them, but that celica maybe had exhaust work done, and an intake at most.

I've had the opportunity to drive a Dinan M-Roadster. It was supercharged and had all the suspension mods. Power was rated at 380-ish. I was most impressed by the suspension package-smooth and very predictable (unlike a stock M-Roadster). The best part--you could USE the extra power. I could accelerate full throttle in first gear WHILE turning WITHOUT breaking the tires loose! (and no, it didn't have DRs)

And here's the funny part: it didn't have the Dinan badge!
