New Headers for ** MAXIMA V6 HEADERS - 95-99 3.0L ** NEW HI-RES PICTURES

Guys,

Here you go! 12 new Hi-Res Pictures of the mew Maxima 95-99 Headers.
Note, we will be adding the EGR port at the installation. Then, all production rear headers will get the EGR port.

The headers have port-matched flanges as you can see in the photos. The ports are 1.25"x2.0" and the collocter port is 2.25"

We are looking to install those sometime next week. Please those who showed interest PM me ASAP.

What do you think?

Nashua

Those look pretty nice, the inside of the headers could use a little grinding.

Also what is the EGR port used for?

EGR port is used to lower the emission of Nitogen Oxide.

First, test fitment and adding the missing EGR port. Then, some time later, we will do dyno testing.

Detailed dyno results should be #1 priority. It would be cool for all us boosted guys if you could throw a boosted max up on the dyno. (or would it make much of a difference in power?)

Those look like they are very good quality. I guess we will just have to wait for the dyno's so see if they make a nice difference in power or not.

True, but it is a complex design after all.

I know you can smooth out the inside some. I'd definitely have to do it if i bought some.

so since its so...complex and hard, u cant grind out the inside to make it better? Also, its nice that u have high quality pics, but did they all have to be amazingly huge and repetative?...nice carnation in the 1st pic btw. also, not to be repetative...dyno

Im wondering if these will yield greater results then the y pipe. Better yet,... i'd like to see the dyno results of these headers with a y pipe.

Looks very good, That should make the exhaust sound a little louder, hopefully we see some Dyno with big gain of horse power. Like 20-30

hmm, headers have always been popular on other nissans and hondas. i saw someone bring up the topic of headers on .org a while back and everyone said you won't see much power gain with them. i have no clue on the theory, i'm just relaying what i read a while back..

when u think about it, there is no way it CAN make 20-30hp. they connect directly to the Y pipe...its a short piece of metal. by making better bends and smoother piping,u can get like 5hp maybe. the big gain is in taking off cats or other restrictions...hence why the Y pipe is so good for our specific car. for hondas and other imports, a good example being the integra, the headers are long headers that essentially ARE the Y pipe. this is why for them changing the header can make a world of difference

But again thanks for getting this going! (ok, headers $$, grinder $, install $$$, dyno $, ...)

yea i remember way back someone saying that it was pointless to make headers for our cars because the stock headers we have are already so great...i also can not see 20+ hp off of that small piece of medal but we'll see....and hope

i dont want to be MEAN or something but i just dont see how it could do anything amazing when its just a small piece of piping... didnt someone already try porting it out and failed?

if maximas really needed headers then why hasnt anyone mass produced them. i dont think that the max engine needs headers. there so small anyway. the y pipe is practically the cars headers.

Yeah i also read awhile back that Headers wont make much of a diffrence scince our Stock ones are pretty good already. Why spend 400$ and hard time on installing those for realy not much HP, when I can spend 400$ on NAWZ and Get the REAL HP i need

And when you have "NAWZ"...don't get the headers because you could just put the $400 towards VI. Eventually, the only thing left to get in that price range will be headers.

If someone who is only going to dump $400 into their car buys headers, I agree that they are fools. If someone who has exhausted all other sub-$1k mods buys headers, he needs to find a girl

Cattman already made headers, but those were a complete header/ypipe replacement, rather than short headers into a y-pipe. Even with a complete replacement, they only saw a 25% power gain over stock headers into a cattman y-pipe. If you consider a y-pipe gives 10-20 hp, you're talking an additional 5hp (max) from their headers, which were much longer than the stock short ones. So I would be surprised if you even got that out of replacement shorties. No doubt that boosted guys would see gains from better flowing headers, as we have seen the gains from a 3" exhaust system over stock and even 2.25".. It's just not cost effective for N/A guys, especially if you have to pay to have them installed.

That being said, I always applaud new development! I'm sure you'll find some boosted test monkies and customers if you get those cleaned up a bit and dyno'd.
