starter problem: no crank/turn-over, just spinning sound

so what do you guys think.. bad starter, right? This isn't the problem in my car, but rather my mom's 1999 Quest. Basically, we turn the key and all we hear is a spinning sound, but no cranking or turn-overs. Actually, my mom mentioned that she had a problem in a parking lot last week about how the car just *clicked* when she turned the key... but after a couple tries, the thing started. Same thing in this situation... i turned the keys, all i hear is spinning, but like on the 10th try, it turned over and started. I tested the battery and the volts look good.

I'm hoping it's just the starter so we can get it replaced. Thanks for any feedback guys.

Yeah, sounds like it's the starter to me. The solenoid is bad. I don't know what it is, but Nissan is prone to have bad starters and solenoids. I went thru about 4 starters on my '95 before I got rid of it!
