This must be a repetetive question... But can be fit larger oil filters on the 3.5 engine? If so, what are the positives/negagtives?

thanks

I used a FRAM filter that is maybe an inch longer which means more filter media. I can't think of any negatives except maybe a little harder to install.

Just because the filter is larger does not mean it filters better or can trap more dirt. Thats a completely false judgement. It's all about the filtering media and the number of pleats which determins the filtration area and micron rating.

Sorry, I just assumed a bigger filter has more filter media. Next time I'll do a scientific study before I give my opinion.

Price is the same, I have 12 of the M1-105's in a box and they hold aa good 100% more oil than the M1-110.

I just changed my oil this weekend and went from an M1-110 to an M1-105. The 105 costs the same and is much bigger...it actually fits the VQ35 perfectly!!

Edit - thanks to bill99gxe for the oil and filter recommendation FAQ in the fluids forum.

The only place around me that carries Mobil 1 filters is Autozone.

Thanks guys.

The AutoZone by my house closed down. I think there is one near where I work. I check it out at lunch.
