I hate my pinstripe!
I bought my 00 GLE in April. The originally owner put pinstipe on it. At first I though it didn't look that bad. The pinstripe is white, the car is grey luster. Now I hate it. The dealer I bought it from says I should leave it in the sun all day and then just peel. That's not cool! Does anyone know the best way, to remove this? I don't have a scratch on my car, and I don't want any flaws in the paint.
Thanks

The question is...after 3+ years will the paint under the pinstripe be the same color as the rest of the paint? I had a white 2000 with an ugly black pinstripe that I wanted removed but the dealer said that afterwards you would most likely still be able to see where the pinstripe was because of fading.
After 3 years there will more than likely be some fading, unless the guy was a vampire and only drove at night.
You will probably have to go to a reputable detail shop and have them color sand the aree to blend in the tan lines.

it shouldn't be to bad...
I once had a honda accord...and i took it the pin strip off and the pin strip was on for 10 years and there wasn't that much fad...
All you habve to do is after you are done give your car a good wax and it should be good as new

I've done it before on my mom's 97 I30t. Here's what I did and it turned out great:
1. Heat up the pinstripe with a hair dryer
2. Peel off pinstripe. use a library card or something to help if needed.
3. To remover leftover glue use bug and tar remover on it.
4. I reccomend to wash and wax your car afterwards to protect the area where bug and tar remover was applied to.
