Close race with an SS

I just raced a Chevy SS truck and won by about 2 cars. It was as equal of a start as you can get. We raced until about 100 and I had him by 2 car lengths (at least) by the end. We gave each other a thumbs up and headed our seperate ways. By the look of his face he seemed pretty surprised. i had one passenger, it was on 528 in Houston and Alvin (those who know it know it's safe) and I'm completly sober (I have to work at 6 tomorrow). It was one of my favorite races though b/c it was so close up until about 65. What do those trucks run the 1320 in? I should be mid 14s. I'm pretty sure those trucks have a big engine that runs slower in hot, humid weather. Under better conditions it would have been a very close race, but I still think I would've had him.

BTW I have a 2k2 Auto with just a VB mod and heavier 18" wheels

Was it the new SS truck? If so I'll give you some mag racer stats on it. C&D tested the new SS truck and it ran I believe a 14.6 @ 90. Full time 4 wheel drive etc etc....

These new SS trucks are supposed to be Chevy's answer to the Ford Lightning right?

That's kind of a low trap for 14.6. It was a nice looking truck though.

yes, but it's not nearly as fast- but it has 4wd full time, so its much more practical than the lightning

Initially it will hang but the Max will pull on it eventually it traps some 3-4 mph slower than the auto 02-03 Max. Im sure they will be some nice mods for it soon I'm sure.

All wheel drive and very heavy. Had a customer with one, right out of the hole it was a beast, but by 65-70 it wasn't that quick.
