2k2 and 2k3 owners...

If you take the plastic cover off the motor..you are left with the intake manifold and the valve cover...now looking at the valve cover it is coated black ceramic but looks somewhat like a 4th gen or 2k or 2k1 valve cover...my ? is does anyone know if you can fit the plastic piece from a 4th gen or early 5th gen onto the valve cover to get rid of the big plastic piece instead? Thanks...

Why change it? Is that plastic very heavy or what?

From reading previous posts, I think the concern is with the cover keeping excess heat in the engine bay.

It actually makes a difference with heat soaking (which the 3.5s do not like one bit). But it makes the engine bay ooglie

When your at the track all that matters is the time from A to B, when doing normal driving who gives a *** what it looks like under the hood.

You know your going some where to show off you pull the cover off the shelf grab the 4 bolts and an allen wrench out of your tool box and in less than 5 min your on the road. WTBD

heat soaking???!!!... i'm such a noob....I was under the impression from a previous post, way back when, that the max (engine) could bear well the heat....not that extra cooling wouldn't be nice...my 2k2 always runs two dashes above zero (below half on the temp gauge)...
