Dallas Nissan Enthusiasts Taillight Mod Instructions?

I tried the DNE taillight mod...
I was under the impression that all I had to do was Paint the inside of the clear part of the tail black, throw An insert in like normal red clears, and they would appear as if tinted.... i did the outers, and was planning to do the inners tomorrow, and uhh, from the pics i took, as is they seem to match! (the outers/inners, when i only painted the inside of outers)
wtf did i do wrong?

Yeah. Don't put the inserts in the tails after you paint em. Alot of the guys are doing a body colored housing now too. People are getting experimental. I'm still a fan of red/clears.

Mmmm...body color AE lights. That sounds fun.

Actually, I'm taking pics this weekend. Last weekend we AE'd almost all my front lights. But it's really subtle since I'm Sterling Mist...but I like it a lot.

DTM'd tails are gonna stay painted black inside the housing though...I don't think body color in the back would look right. The tinted look matches the titanium M A X I M A lettering.

Where in the world did you get those red/clears on you 95/96. BTW I did the mod but it does not look as effective as with red/clears you barely even notice it.

I am one of those REALLY lucky 95/96 owners to find a set of all clear tails!

I made the bottom red and did the DTM on the signal part!

I love it!

Did you do the DTM with the stock tails? Post of a pic of that or email it to me (csim@irvingtool.com). I'd be REALLY interested in seeing that. Maybe redding out the amber and doing DTM on the reverse would be interesting too.... (ideas popping into head)
