Isn't cooling going to be a problem? I can't imagine that thing likes such an enclosed area.

Maseo77: the cube is a 12v unit. i realized this when i noticed that the AC power plug uses a converter. that's what led me to this idea. the simplicity of the wiring install pushed me to do it. i simply cut the wires off my car adapter (cigarette lighter plug-in) and tapped it into the rear passengers cig. lighter adapter. this gave me a steady 12v and i've been running perfect since then.

Y2K2Driver: Cooling is no issue. it looks like a snug fit, but it's not. i had to remove the whole armrest storage console from the car and take apart the console from under. the hole for the storage compartment is 5.5" wide, the cube is 6" wide and the overall width of the console is about 7" (gap between storage and the edge of the console). i took the black storage hole and cut it to fit the cube. when mounted from below, it looks clean from up top and since the fans (2 of them) are located on the sides, circulation is no problem, there is all open air down there.

conclusion: i've had it running for about a week now and it's great. the cube provides standard or widescreen viewing, and so does my headunit, so widescreen while playing is pretty hot. overall i am a fan of gamecube. the games may not be as realistic as ps2 or xbox, but i like animated type games. and for what it's worth, bonus points at a show

Nice job POLO! I'm an xbox kinna guy (but i got one @home- My brother doesnt even play w/his cube so I might tackle on that project- Besides there are games that are cube exclusive that sometimes i wish i could play (metroid, soulcaliber II (out first on cube), & the new f-zero)

the very first thing i did after gettin the cube in there was buy FZero. that game rocks. and the sound is sick. surround sound baby!!!

i may just get super monkey ball for the hell of it (monkey golf is actually pretty fun) and i def. like soul caliber II.

and if you think this is nice, wait till you see what system is going in my car next week.

nope, the GC is a very snug fit. only space left is for memory card. i'm gettin wireless controllers and making pods underneath each seat where a controller can be snapped on and off, reach under, grab, and play.

PoLo's car is fast becoming one of the hottest on here. I think he also realized that if he put XBox in his car, his "non-maxima time" will be cut down to absolutely ZERO. So, good choice on the GC, Marco!

No kidding. I mean I can appreciate the installation efforts and results, but just could not conceive of wanting to be in my car long enough to make use of half the stuff.

well to be serious, i actual do spend quite a lot of time in the car. traffic in NY is a b!tch, and i do watch movies when i can. music is obviously my main interest. but truthfully, i never play the cube inside, so i waslike what the hell, let me see if it'll go int he car, and luckily, it did. and oddly enough, i play it more IN the car than inside. when i play it, i can at least pause it between lights or if i'm waiting for someone. now people run out like "sorry i took so long" and i'm like "you wanna go take longer, i'm not done with this level"

thanx for the compliments though. i'm not done...1 more system going in about 2 weeks, and then another hush hush project, actually 2 more. i'm hoping to get at least 1 hush hush done before oct. 4th for import xpressions. i'll be at the TC Concepts booth, along with Toylet.

You have your steering wheel remote eye mounted in the exact same place as mine. Nice job on everything.
