From what I have read for the past 2+ years there have been NO problems reported with the 4TH GEN sc kit and the MAF.

NOW the 5th gen is another story.

I will be putting a Z32 maf on the intake side of SC in a month or so.

Are you recirculating the bov air?

mas before s/c

heres the deal--i have a 97 se with a 2000 motor. the s/c is a s trim unit (much more boost)and running a apex front mount air/air intercooler. i moved the mas to the intake side and have been surging bad. if i move it back to the intake side, how much psi can the factory units take?(4th gen)also-should i install the air temp sens on the intake side of the s/c, before the i/c inlet. or after the i/c outlet?

From what I've read here on the org, a 4th gen maf has yet to be blown from too much boost.

The air temp sensor is not used by the ecu for controlling afr. Put it wherever is most convenient.

Sounds like you may be having a boost leak. Is the surging mostly at idle?

surge

nope. the surge is all through the rpm band. i unplugged the mass air and the car ran good.(except for the code-it put the ecu in fail safe)
