Went to dealer for ECM/MAF updates today...
So I had an appointment today with Serramonte Nissan in Daly City, CA. I took my car there for 3 things: 1) Lack of Power TSB, 2) front window rattle and 3) rear window pillar glue coming off. They ordered a new panel under warranty, said that the window rattling was "normal" and...
...updated my ECM. They did not replace my MAF, the only did the ECM flash and reset, as per the TSB instructions. The service guy said that I do not fall under the category of MAF replacement, just ECM reprogam by the Consult-II. I was OK with that, as I think the ECM reprogram is what really matters in this case, plus he showed me that the code he got from the computer showed, as per the TSB, that my car's code only needed the ECM. The part number of the ECM is 23710-6Y311.
The car is slightly more responsive now, not a night and day difference like quite a few people have said, but that's because I don't think I really had a hesitation or a lack of power that was very prevalent. Overall I am happy with the results and no hassles from the dealership.
Oh, I also finally installed my OTTO FSTB all the way (after adding washer to raise it a bit), but not without some setbacks. I lost one of the tower nuts somewhere in the engine bay, and had to sweat out the ride back to the dealership because I was not sure what was going to happen with my car riding on only 2 nuts on one of the towers. All went well, though, as the parts department fashioned a regular nut and washer in place of a washer/nut combination bolt that normally sits there.
Overall, a good day for the car...
